The ultimate high build undercoat which is formulated specifically to ensure depth of colour for use under our Narrowboat Topcoats. It provides a colour coordinated base with outstanding hiding power and significantly masks any minor damage your boat may endure. It is strongly recommended to use as part of the system to build film thickness for the coach enamel as the high build prevents the finish fading quickly and ensures durability. Applying just a Topcoat will not have the depth of colour and shine that is consistent with a superior quality finish.

Surfaces must initially be cleaned using a tack cloth to remove all traces of contaminants. Ensure surfaces are dry and smooth to the touch before painting.
Prior to application, we recommend the surfaces are suitably sanded to the correct dry film weight. For machine sanding, we recommend the sia 1948 S-performance P180 – 320. For manual sanding, use Sia 6120 siafleece handpads P180 – 320.
Stir well prior to use. Apply the first coat to a DFT of 30 microns (+/- 5 microns). Apply evenly in 3ft sections by HD Foam Roller and if necessary laid off by Synthetic Brush. Leave to dry for a minimum of 16 hours before application of the second coat. Lightly abrade this coat to provide a smooth finish. Repeat for three coats and a minimum DFT of 30 microns (+/- 5 microns) per coat. Minimum Total DFT after two coats of Metal Primer, three coats of Undercoat should be 110 microns DFT. If required, add up to 5% Thinner 2611 or 2612 to ease application. Avoid cold, damp or high humidity conditions.
