An anti-corrosive high build single pack Alkyd primer for above waterline. Use under our specially designed Undercoat as part of the Symphony Narrowboat System. The pigments contain aluminium flake to provide an anti-corrosive protective barrier. It is easily sandable, available in a dark grey colour and makes an excellent basecoat over existing finishes after adequate preparation. For sufficient adhesion to Aluminium and other alloys, it will be required to use an etch primer.

PREPARATION
Use Metal Primer over a wide variety of surfaces that have been suitably abraded and degreased with Prep Cleaner. Remove loose or blistered paint and flat down existing surfaces with 180 to 240 Grit sanding. Remove sanding dust by wiping with a tack cloth. All surfaces must be sound, clean, dry and free from dust, grease or any other surface contaminants before application.
APPLICATION
Stir well prior to use. Apply the first coat to a DFT of 30 microns (+/- 5 microns). Apply evenly in 3ft sections by HD Foam Roller and if necessary laid off by Synthetic Brush. Leave to dry for a minimum of 12 hours before application of the second coat. Lightly abrade this coat to provide a smooth finish. Minimum Total DFT after two coats of Metal Primer should be 60 microns. If required, add up to 10% Thinner 2611 or 2612 to ease application. Avoid cold, damp or high humidity conditions.
