Overview

A dark shade of blue we named for its resemblance to a moonlit canal, with the full moon gracefully overlooking and radiating indigo dye hues. Midnight Blue was first used in the early 1900's, and can on occasion can be perceived as black. However, under the shimmering sun rays it is undeniably blue, making it an endearingly mysterious yet sophisticated choice of colour for your Narrowboat. The Duke of Windsor popularized the colour in suits and tuxedos as an attractive alternative to Black for formal occasions. It is in fact our second most popular choice of Narrowboat colours.

Our Symphony Narrowboat Paint Gloss is a traditional ultra-high quality high solids coach enamel, achieving a 90% gloss sheen level. It is a high build long oil synthetic paint designed for brush, roller and spray application with a high level of pigmentation. This is the ultimate hardwearing durable finish for your boat coating project, boosting longevity and long-lasting colour retention. The deep colour flattens out to leave a smooth high gloss mirror finish. Also available in a Raddle finish for roofs and flat areas, or an anti-slip for walkways.

Complementary Colour

Black

The dark blue shimmer in the sunlight makes Midnight Blue an effortlessly unique choice of colour.
Combine with Black cabin sides to keep the finish enigmatically elegant. The deepness of the Midnight Blue creates a pleasing contrast, with the overall aesthetics changing in certain lights. Midnight Blue is often described as 'blacker than black'.
